The West Bengal government announced its new Industrial Policy 2026 outlining ten major steps to revive industrial growth across the state. The policy aims to bring together investment incentives, faster clearances, and employment generation. Authorities are considering a comprehensive land bank that will map available industrial plots through a Geographic Information System. A separate framework for managing financial liabilities is also included to tackle the wider economic challenges. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari stated that the administration would avoid past policies and police firing on farmers witnessed during earlier tenures. The matter regarding industrial revival and land allocation remains under official review.
