Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has alleged that great damage has been done to the fabric of India, democracy, and institutions over the last 12 years. Speaking in an interview ahead of her book launch, she claimed that Congress workers and leaders have faced persecution of all kinds. She stated that even after the Modi government goes, it will take time to restore the country's systems back to health. The remarks came ahead of the release of her book titled 'Belonging: A Journey of Love', where she also pointed out that people are now beginning to be restless and recognising the damage. Expressing optimism, the former Congress chief said that the people of India will welcome a return to proper governance.
