Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Chouhan’s Mother Kashi Bai Dies, Funeral in Jait

Madhya Pradesh’s chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan lost his mother Kashi Bai on Tuesday at AIIMS Bhopal, with last rites scheduled in Jait. While the state mourns, ordinary citizens still grapple with water shortages and stalled infrastructure projects, highlighting a governance model that prioritises ceremonial grief over pressing public needs. The bureaucracy’s sluggish response to these issues fuels public frustration. The death underscores how personal loss can momentarily eclipse chronic civic challenges for the people of Bhopal.
