Karnataka High Court Quashes Defamation Case Against Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar and KPCC
The Karnataka High Court has officially quashed defamation proceedings against Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee. The case was filed by the BJP over newspaper advertisements published in May 2023 alleging corruption.
Justice M. Nagaprasanna allowed the criminal petitions filed by the leaders and extended the benefit of an earlier order that previously quashed similar proceedings against Rahul Gandhi in the same case. The matter was pending before a special court in Bengaluru.
The court held that the petitioners were entitled to the same relief granted earlier. The proceedings against the accused leaders and the KPCC stand dismissed following the latest judicial ruling by the High Court.
