Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Saturday alleged that fuel companies were supplying petrol with ethanol content exceeding the mandated twenty percent limit. He cited laboratory tests of samples collected from seven districts in Karnataka to support his claim. Gandhi stated that eleven out of fourteen petrol samples tested at an accredited laboratory contained more than twenty percent ethanol. He highlighted that samples from IOCL reached 31.2 percent while HPCL samples touched 30.5 percent during the testing process.
