Entertainment: Varun Grover Discusses Aging Artists in Short Film Kambakhat

Filmmaker and lyricist Varun Grover sat for a detailed interview with India Today on March 5, 2024, discussing his latest short film Kambakhat that portrays the dignity of ageing artists. Grover explained that the narrative confines the protagonists within a single room to emphasize restraint, while the music cues evoke memories of past glories. He said the film aims to challenge society’s neglect of creators. Kambakhat is slated for release on digital platforms in early May and will also feature in the Mumbai Short Film Festival, where Grover hopes it sparks dialogue on elder respect.
