Diwali Muhurat Trading Opens Strong As Sensex Gains 250 Points

Indian equity benchmarks opened in the green for the special 70-minute Diwali Muhurat trading session. At the 2:20 pm open, the <b>Sensex</b> gained 250 points while the Nifty rose by 40 points. The markets welcomed Samvat 2083 on a bullish note after posting their strongest weekly gains in almost six years. The Nifty climbed more than 8 per cent over the past week, extending its rally to seven straight sessions. This strong performance boosted investor optimism ahead of the new Hindu calendar year. The multi commodity exchange followed the same trading window from 2:20 pm to 3:30 pm. Several stocks touched fresh 52-week highs during the session, including <b>ICICI Bank</b>, Adani Ports, and TVS Motor Company.
