Delhi under IMD red alert; rain may delay Karwa Chauth moon sighting

Delhi is under a red alert from the IMD as of 5:45 pm, covering North, North‑West, West and South‑West districts. The warning flags heavy rain that may keep skies overcast and delay the moon sighting for Karwa Chauth. While the IMD issues timely alerts, city officials lag in clearing streets and deploying rain‑drainage, a classic case of bureaucracy turning a weather warning into a public inconvenience. Heavy clouds could postpone evening prayers, leaving thousands of women uncertain about their fasting rituals.
