Centre Approves 3 Percent Dearness Allowance Hike For Government Employees

The Central government has announced a <b>3% DA hike</b> for <b>4.8 million</b> government employees and pensioners, just ahead of the festive season. Effective from <b>July 1</b>, this revision aims to cushion the blow of rising living costs for millions of households across the country.<br><br>While festive cheer is welcome, the bureaucratic red tape usually ensures that ordinary citizens outside government payrolls continue battling relentless inflation without any comparable cushion. Festive handouts ease pockets temporarily, but structural economic challenges require much more than periodic percentage tweaks.<br><br>This administrative decision carries an annual financial burden of <b>₹10,016.10 crore</b> on the exchequer.
