Bangalore University plans to establish placement cells in all undergraduate and postgraduate colleges under its jurisdiction. This move aims to enhance student employability through dedicated drives and skill training programs. The university already operates a central placement cell for annual drives and has appointed officers in select colleges. However, these officers are currently inactive, leading to allegations that students lack adequate placement information. Officials state that students and parents prioritize job prospects during enrollment. The new cells will conduct offline and online skill training to bridge this gap and improve industry linkage.
