Banaskantha readies festive welcome for PM Modi with illuminated dairy farms

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Banaskantha, Gujarat on October 30, as villages gear up for a colourful reception. Women are already drawing rangoli patterns on village squares, while dairy unions have draped their sheds in multicoloured bulbs. The dazzling display masks the dairy sector’s woes – delayed subsidies and stagnant milk prices – highlighting the administrative lag that shadows such visits. Residents hope the fanfare translates into tangible support for their dairy sector. Yet without policy tweaks, the illumination may fade as the night lights.
