Assam MLA Akhil Gogoi accuses CM of inciting protests in Zubeen Garg case

Sibsagar MLA and Raijor Dal president <b>Akhil Gogoi</b> on Friday accused Assam Chief Minister <b>Himanta Biswa Sarma</b> of urging protests against judges and witnesses in the Zubeen Garg death case. The CM had earlier flagged a threat to his family after a group threatened to besiege his house on November 6, 2026, and said he would inform the Supreme Court and Gauhati High Court, calling it a possible murder attempt. Gogoi labelled Sarma’s comments as contempt of court and warned that any intimidation of judges could undermine the ongoing investigation into Zubeen Garg’s death.
